Abstract
The article presents the relationship between the occurrence of various forms of violence in the family between parents and child abuse. The main goal of the authors is to present empirically established typologies of violent families. Identifying a pattern of domestic violence is important for both the diagnosis and the perpetrator's therapy strategy. Various models of perpetrator therapy and their advantages and dysfunctions were discussed. The authors focus on the presentation of the British project to counteract domestic violence, the West Midlands Domestic Violence Project (DVP), under which families affected by domestic violence are offered a wide range of benefits and services, based on the perpetrators' group therapy program.
