Research output: Other contribution

Abstract

This is a submission to the Scottish Parliament's Criminal Justice Committee on the Victims, Witnesses and Justice Reform (Scotland) Bill. Focusing on the Bill's proposals to introduce a legal right to complainer anonymity for sexual and other qualifying offences in Scots law, this written evidence draws on our (a) comparative legal research and (b) research on public attitudes towards reporting restrictions in sexual offence cases to analyse the strengths, weaknesses - and practical implications - of the Scottish Government's reform proposals.
