Abstract

Recent legislative changes in the UK permit optometrists with additional training to be involved in the therapeutic management of eye conditions. The role of a therapeutic optometrist within the health care network is still developing and it seems timely to ascertain what impact this additional role has on those who have undertaken the relevant training. This article aims to capture a snapshot of the current status of therapeutic prescribing for optometrists in the UK.
