Abstract
This article discusses the importance of the role of the health visitor in the containment of antimicrobial resistance, focusing on three key areas of practice. Antimicrobial resistance is a serious public health problem and all health professionals should be engaged in preserving antibiotics for future generations. The focus of this article is on the health visitor role in infection prevention and control, antibiotic stewardship and prescribing, and improving public engagement and professional development in antibiotic stewardship and infection control.
