Abstract
Examines the Sheriff Personal Injury Court ruling in Weddle v Glasgow City Council on whether a witness to the aftermath of a serious road traffic accident, involving several pedestrians being struck by a bin lorry, who subsequently developed post traumatic stress disorder, could obtain damages as a primary victim. Reviews the law on psychiatric injury and discusses the court's reasons for its decision.
