Abstract
Universities continue to seek opportunities to further promote international agendas. A semester abroad is now seen as a way to strengthen one’s degree and gain firsthand experience of different cultures and customs (Hutchings et al. 2002). Domestic and international study tours have long been an inherent part of higher education. Many programs are led by university professors/lecturers to increase students’ global awareness, to complement knowledge from the classroom, and to further integrate theory and practice. Such programs expand the traditional concept of the classroom and bring students into cultural settings through social activities consumed at the source.
