Abstract

A review of crystalline lithium-ion conducting materials is presented with a focus on those suitable for high temperature battery applications. A wide range of materials is considered, both oxides and non-oxides, and several systems are recommended as being of particular interest. Factors considered include high ionic conductivity at operating temperatures (300-600°C), compatibility with electrode materials and ease of preparation.
