Abstract
May et al. have highlighted the relationship between late HIV diagnosis and life expectancy, and their results are supportive of both universal testing and of regular testing for those at risk. This is in line with current UK policy on HIV testing for men who have sex with men (MSM) [1], which recommends at least annual HIV testing. We were prompted by May et al.'s article to explore one of our own databases in relation to barriers to testing.
