Reliability analysis of trunk road network maintenance: a study of category1 defects

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

This paper presents the study conducted on category1 defects on trunk road networks in the UK. Category1 defects such as potholes significantly accelerate structural deterioration and pose imminent hazards on road networks. Higher incidences of road defects have exacerbated pressures to improve the
maintenance strategy and reliability of existing trunk road networks. Reliability Centered maintenance (RCM) approach is considered in this investigation to give an in-depth understanding of trunk road network failure processes.
