Abstract

This article reviews the law on product liability both at common law and under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, focusing on the Outer House decision in Renfrew Golf Club v Motocaddy Ltd concerning potential liability for an electric golf trolley supplier to a golf club for damages to its clubhouse caused by a fire started by a golf trolley.
