Introduction
• MSM are at a disproportionate risk of HIV in the UK
• Up to 20% of HIV+ MSM are undiagnosed1
• BHIVA/BASH guidelines2 recommend regular HIV testing;
• At least annually for sexually active MSM
• 3 – 6 monthly testing for higher risk MSM
• Critically, there is no definition of ‘risk’ in this context
• Focus on ‘recent’ or ‘ever’ testing does not measure
ongoing behaviour
