note = "I was invited due to my research expertise on the films of Peter Watkins to take part in a discussion for the BBC Radio 3 programme 'Freethinking' marking the 50th anniversary of Watkins' debut BBC film, 'Culloden'. This was recorded live in front of an audience in August 2014 at the Edinburgh Festival and transmitted UK-wide a month later on 15 September just before the 2014 Scottish referendum. Other contributors were the distinguished Scottish historian Sir Tom Devine and Diana Gabaldon, author of the 'Outlander' novels. The chair was BBC presenter Matthew Sweet. ",
