This study will investigate the development of 'portfolio' or 'family business clusters' as a strategy for trans-generational entrepreneurial continuity among business families. At the conceptual level, the project combines theoretical perspectives on portfolio & ethnic entrepreneurship and family business succession. It imagines a development of a theoretical insight that will help to better understand multiple business formation, business growth, strategies for family longevity and sustainability by bridging the above scholarships. The sample will be chosen from ethnic Asian family businesses in Scotland.
