Abstract
Competitive sport is a tapestry of ambition and emotion. Some athletes are driven to excel continuously on a rising tide of seemingly insurmountable standards; yet those impulses to better oneself and the one's achievements have driven athletes like Lee Westwood to extraordinary triumph with positive emotion at its core. When journalists invite champion athletes to reveal their success, at least one common denominator emerges: the role of emotion control.
