Abstract
The history of chemical coagulation and its effects on the water quality control and management was reviewed. The most favourable coagulant species and pre-polymerised inorganic coagulants were prepared by reference to the appropriate coagulant chemistry. The overall performance of pre-polymerised coagulants in comparison with that of the conventional coagulants for water treatment was evaluated.
