Abstract
A study to inform Scottish policy related to the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electrical Equipment) Directive, which came into force in 2003. The study included the assessment of the WEEE arisings across the 11 Scottish Waste Strategy Areas and the data and systems available in Scotland to facilitate the management of WEEE to meet Scottish obligations under the Directive. Barriers to the development of WEEE recycle and recovery markets were also investigated.
