    Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine how academic research on cross-border mergers and acquisitions (CBM&As) from emerging economy firms (EEFs) have evolved over the past decade (2000-2012). Focusing on articles published in major scholarly journals during the period 2000-2012, the authors develop a framework in respect of the areas where emerging research streams have been concentrated namely, (i) motivation for acquisitions by EEFs; and (ii) the consequences/outcomes. We identified issues which have not been examined and provide recommendations for future research for finance and international business scholars.
