Comparing freeform lenses and optimised DTIRC for uniform illumination

    Abstract

    This paper compares two optics, a freeform lens and a DTIRC, which have been designed to provide uniform illumination. Both lenses can generate high percentage uniformity on the target plane. This comparison concentrates on the size of the optics, their compactness and their footprint areas.
