Abstract

New types of tourism that have emerged in the 21st century as a result of the changing society and the digital age have transformed even the classic concept of getting married. The 'destination wedding' tourism industry is taking off at a rapid speed around the world and is a highly lucrative market for host countries. The Caribbean is emerging as a favorite destination for couples to celebrate their nuptials, as it meets the requirements for the celebration of the event. The most popular destinations in the Caribbean are Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Jamaica. This research focuses on these three markets, being the main subject of the work, and focuses on understanding the economic, social, and tourism impact of this industry, which is sometimes little studied and even devalued by society despite its high potential.
