Abstract

In order to achieve optimum conveying conditions, air leakage through a rotary valve was accounted in designing conveying systems. The effect of rotor clearance or the gradual wear of the valve with respect to time was investigated in order to study influence of air leakage across a rotary valve. It was found that rotor wear makes an adverse effect on air leakage directly affecting the system performance.
