Abstract
As the world’s largest producer and consumer of construction materials, the Chinese Construction Material Sector plays a significant role in developing the national economy. The adoption of e-Procurement within supply chains in Chinese industries and enterprises is in an initial stage of rapid development and the potential for further development of e-procurement have been highlighted as an opportunity for China. The aim of this paper is to investigate the current state of e-Procurement adoption in China’s construction material sector supply chain, in order to understand the level of e-Procurement adoption and the different tools adopted. The paper presents the findings of an empirical investigation into e-Procurement adoption within the Shandong natural stone industry in China’s construction material sector which represents a key segment of the China’s economy.
