Project Details
Description
"The CSP plays a central role in the quality assurance and enhancement of physiotherapy education. Currently all UK physiotherapy programmes either hold or are actively seeking accreditation. The CSP strives for this to continue, driving excellence in professional standards and ensuring that physiotherapy education meets the needs of the future workforce. The CSP QAE processes have remained largely unchanged over the last decade whilst the use of digital technologies in monitoring quality in higher education has progressively improved efficiency and insight. With the increasing growth in physiotherapy pre-registration training places and the HCPC introducing a change in their quality assurance process, the CSP QAE role needs to evolve to be more sustainable, effective and efficient. This work is fundamental to the CSP’s role in ensuring pre-registration education produces physiotherapists with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to work within a changing and challenging present and future of healthcare.
Aims
1) To comprehensively explore and analyse the multifaceted concept of quality in pre-registration physiotherapy education by investigating the perceptions of learners, professional practice, practice educators, service users and HEIs, while integrating evidence-based literature.
2) To evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of current QAE processes implemented within pre-registration physiotherapy education at the CSP. "
