Teaching an old dog new tricks: Characterisation of the antifungal activity of toyocamycin against Candida albicans

Project Details

Description

This proposal aims to further characterise this activity in relation to biofilm tolerance and development of resistance and will address the following questions:
1. Is drug resistance to toyocamycin induced following repeated and frequent exposure to the drug?
2. Does Toyocamycin display anti-biofilm activity against C. albicans?
3. Is the activity of Toyocamycin altered due to biofilm tolerance mechanisms?
