Systematic review of IPC interventions in long-term care facilities

Project Details

Description

The SHIP team has recently been approached by WHO Global Unit on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) to conduct a systematic review of IPC interventions in long-term care facilities (LTCF). To secure funding, the proposal needs to be submitted to WHO by Friday, the 19th April 2024.
The project will involve conducting an electronic database search to identify studies relevant to the review and the results will be transferred to Covidence. Search results will be screened against the eligibility criteria by two independent reviewers. Included studies will be assessed for methodological quality and data will be extracted by two independent reviewers. If the body of evidence is homogeneous in relation to intervention and outcome, a meta-analysis will be performed. Otherwise, findings will be synthesised narratively and presented to WHO stakeholders by delivering a presentation. In addition, findings will be published in a peer-reviewed, international IPC journal.
