Squadron Analytics will collaborate with Glasgow Caledonian University as an academic partner to explore some of the challenges they are facing in evaluating the feasibility of a novel concept in structural health monitoring / non-destructive testing / asset integrity of pipelines and pressure vessels. This project would:

• Explore optimal technology to detect internal corrosion in pipelines and pressure vessels
• Explore the optimum non-intrusive sensing technologies which can be externally mounted.
• Carry out Finite Element Analysis [FEA] on a range of pipe geometries, materials and simulated corrosion defects subject to elevated pressures.
• Predict the stress and strain distributions based on the above FEA.
• Assess the likely performance of the proposed senor technology in strain detection / quantification for the proscribed applications.
