'Mercy Squad': Learning About Perpetrators and Rescuers in the Third Reich

Project Details

Description

‘Mercy Squad’ is a cooperative, in-person educational game for Scottish Highers students (also suitable for A-Level students in England, Wales and Northern Ireland), focusing on Nazi perpetrators in the German armed forces during the ideological ‘war of annihilation’ against the Soviet Union between 1941 and 1945. It ties in with the growth of Holocaust education in UK secondary schools. As well as introducing participants to aspects of Second World War and Holocaust history, the game is further designed to inspire them to take History as a degree subject as they see how individual lives can impact on historical events.
