The UNICYCLE project would build on current activities at GCU. As the University of the Common Good, our students are actively encouraged to consider how their education, research and extra-curricular activities can contribute to local and international challenges, adopting the SDGs as a framework. In placing the SDGs at the centre of our activities (teaching, learning and engagement), we work to develop a socially conscious mind-set within our students. One example of this is our annual Common Good award, which aims to encourage, support and reward students who are engaged in co and extra-curricular activity aligned to the GCU Common Good mission. This could include activities such as volunteering, fundraising, mentoring, ambassadorial work, caring, working with youth or community groups, student societies, student representation and much more.
