Project Details
Description
• In this project we will carry out meta-analysis of cholesterol homeostasis in AMD patients, using state of the art techniques.
• To use in silico based model for chlosterol homeostasis in the RPE and choroidal endothelial cells using a mixed method of quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR) and structure based method which is ligand protein docking.
• Identify additional TSPO ligands which can enhance cholesterol efflux in the RPE and choroidal endothelium cells. This will be done in real time in live cells using weighted local variance image analysis
• evaluate the protective effects of TSPO ligands in AMD mouse models using liquid chromatography mass spectrometry and electrophoresis.
