DEMOS Democratic Efficacy and the Varieties of Populism in Europe

Project Details

Description

The DEMOS project aims at exploring the practical value of the concept of ‘democratic efficacy’ as the condition of political engagement addressing the challenge of populism.
DEMOS will combine insights from several disciplines using a methodological mix that includes experimental research, deliberative polling, text mining techniques, survey research, interpretive analysis, legal analysis and theoretical research. Stakeholder involvement and civil partners will ensure the practical relevance and applicability of the recommendations. Communication and exploitation will be an integral part of the project, using novel methods to map key EU-level and national stakeholders, engage in multilevel advocacy, and develop a set of communication tools for different publics.
