Changes to the agricultural land bank and implications for fod security using landspreading of wastes and waste-deprived materials as an example.

Project Details

The specific objectives of this project are:
- To produce a conceptual framework for the use of datasets to deliver key policy and regulatory needs in relation to agricultural land use and food security with a focus on landspreading of materials such as biosolids and organic-rich wastes such as composts;
- To identify and critically characterise UK datasets for use in this framework;
- To identify the challenges of combining such datasets at a regional and national level;
- Using cadmium and microplastics to provide exemplars of the challenges;
To achieve these, we propose a well-suited and balanced project team with expertise in environmental science, statistics, management, stakeholder engagement, and modelling.
