Project Details

Description

Feasibility Study looking at aquatic exercise for falls prevention. This study will look at the feasibility and acceptability of offering strength and balance exercise in the pool and its effects on falls risk. We will consider the uptake (acceptability), adherence (compliance and attrition) and feasibility of the outcome measures we might use in a definitive study at a later date. We will work closely with the Steady Steps falls programmes in Edinburgh and make use of their waiting list (currently >6 months!) to offer people the aquatic exercise while they wait for the land based falls classes.
