Project Details
Description
This project aims to demonstrate the industrial viability of our innovative, two-stage algae-based carbon capture and utilisation technology (ACCU), to derisk scale-up and attract further industrial investment. As well as delivering a new negative emission technology, we will adopt a whole system approach to integrate our technology with existing, site-specific processes. This approach will allow us to create additional value streams to increase profitability, enhance sustainability and ensure economic prosperity for all partners involved. The project will particularly benefit small- to medium size emitters, currently overlooked by large national carbon capture strategies, enabling a fair transition to Net Zero, strongly aligned with objective 5.1. of EPSRC’s strategic delivery plan.
