Dr Victoria Walker joined GCU in 2021 as a Lecturer in HRM and Employment Relations, based in the department for People and Organisations. She is the Programme Leader of the MSc International Human Resource Management, which is professionally accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and the Society for Human Resource Management.   Victoria is the module leader for Employment Relations and the Employee Experience, and teaches across a range of modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level across HRM and International Business Management programmes.  She also supervises undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations. 

 
As an early career researcher, Victoria’s current research interests include areas such as employee well-being, financial well-being, the service sector, in-work poverty, low pay, and socially responsible HRM.  She has recently published in top tier journals including the Journal of Business Ethics and Economic and Industrial Democracy.  She is currently the Research Lead for the department, representing the department on the University Research Committee.  Victoria holds membership in several research networks including the Scottish Poverty and Inequality Research Unit and the Responsible Business Research Group at GCU.  Additionally, she is a part of the Scottish research team with the Global Hospitality Research Alliance.

Victoria holds a PhD in Human Resource Management, awarded by the University of Strathclyde in 2021. Additionally, she is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy/AdvanceHE and a member of the CIPD.
