Dr. Norah Palmateer joined Glasgow Caledonian University as a Senior Research Fellow in January 2016. She also holds an honorary NHS contract with Health Protection Scotland. Her main area of work relates to the epidemiology of infections among people who inject drugs - primarily hepatitis C - and the evaluation of interventions to prevent their transmission. She received a BScH in Life Sciences from Queen’s University (Canada), followed by an MSc in Epidemiology from the University of Edinburgh and a PhD in Public Health from the University of Glasgow. She is an author of over 30 academic papers in the areas of injecting drug use and blood-borne virus epidemiology.
