Research interests

Martha joined the GCU in October 2023 having previously worked at King's College London (KCL). Her primary research interst is in substance misuse including its intersection with mental health problems and social determinants of health, and the impact of substance misuse in the family. 

Martha is also interested in research methods applied to Psychology and the use of routinely collected eletronic health records in research. She has worked as an adviser for the NIHR Research Design Service (RDS) London. She has a PhD in Psycholgy (completed in 2015) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Statistical Modelling and Health Informatics.
