Research interests

Dr Ibrahim Beklan Kucukdemiral is now a lecturer in Control Engineering at the Department of Applied Science in the School of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment of Glasgow Caledonian University and Fellow of Higher Education Academy(fHEA), UK. He is also member of IFAC and IEEE and currently the membership development secretary of the IEEE Control Systems Society UK & Ireland Chapter.

Following his secondary school education at Eyüboglu High School, Ibrahim received the BSc, MSc and PhD degrees all in electrical engineering from Yildiz Technical University in 1997, 1999 and 2002, respectively. Between May 1998 – May 2004, he held the Research & Teaching Assistant position in Yildiz Technical University, Department of Electrical Engineering, Division of Control Systems. From 2004 to 2010 he served as an Assistant Professor and in 2010 he was awarded Associate Professorship by the Turkish Higher Education Council. From 2010 -2015, he served as an Associate Professor for the Department of Control and Automation Engineering at Yildiz Technical University and between October 2015 to January 2017 as a full professor.

General research interests of Ibrahim B. Kucukdemiral lie within the broad domain of robust, optimal and adaptive control systems, embedded systems, electronics circuits and devices, mechatronics, digital wireless communication systems, data acquisition measurement and sensor technologies and some automotive applications of control theory. He is a member of Editorial Board of Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences (SCI-E) and module leader of Industrial Process Systems (MSc), Control & Instrumentation Systems (ALC) and Industrial Placement.
