Personal profile

Research interests

I am a Postgraduate Researcher and a member of the Substance Use and Misuse research group and Parenting and Family Support research group at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU). I am co-chair of the Early Career Research Network at GCU.

My research interests focus on reducing alcohol-related harm in different groups and conducting literature reviews (e.g. systematic reviews, scoping reviews). I am currently involved in several projects, including a qualitative study to improve alcohol services for LGBT+ people in Scotland, a systematic review of interventions targeting alcohol use in LGBT+ people and a qualitative study on the impact of Minimum Unit Pricing on homeless and street drinkers. I also teach and supervise Masters level students.

I am a chartered member of the British Psychological Society and a full member of the Division of Health Psychology. I am also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy

I have a PhD in Health Psychology (“Teachable moments: Potential for behaviour change among people with type 2 diabetes and their relatives”), an MSc in Health Psychology and a BA (Hons) in Psychology.
