Dr Conor Hill is a Lecturer in Law at Glasgow Caledonian University. She teaches across a range of modules on the university’s LLB programmes in areas including human rights, transitional justice, public law, and international law.
Dr Hill researches primarily in the areas of human rights law and transitional justice. In her work, she incorporates critical feminist legal theory and legal geography in order to explore issues related to women's participation in transitional justice processes. She was awarded her PhD without corrections by the University of Strathclyde in 2024, for her thesis titled "Problematising the Construction of Women in Transitional Justice: An Analysis of the Relationship Between Women’s Participation and their Portrayal in the Reports of the Liberian Truth and Reconciliation Commission".
Before commencing PhD studies, Dr Hill completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Dundee, graduating with First Class Honours in LLB Scots Law with French in 2013. In 2018, she graduated from the University of Strathclyde with an LLM in Human Rights Law, receiving a Master with Disctinction. Dr Hill received a number of prizes for academic excellence throughout her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, including her LLM programme's Dissertation Prize.
Dr Hill also has experience in non-academic research, having previously worked as a Research and Policy Officer at the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations. In this role, she researched issues relating to Scottish social housing policy and human rights.
