Research interests

Ares A. Gomez-Gallegos is a Mechanical Engineer with a MEng in Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, Mexico, and holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh, UK, in Materials and Manufacturing Engineering. Her main research activity is focused in non-conventional manufacturing processes with interdisciplinary experience in areas such as materials science, mechanical design and manufacturing processes. She has hands on experience in multiple manufacturing processes (manual and CNC tool-machines, water jet cutting, 3D printing, ECM and EDM) combined with a strong knowledge in mechanical design, finite element analysis and material science. Her work has been presented in multiple national and international conferences. In parallel with her research activity, she has been also committed with teaching duties since 2008.
