Activity: Participating in or organising an eventParticipation in conference

In this interactive session, facilitators from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and Glasgow Caladonian University (GCU) will share their personal experiences with initiating a short-term study-abroad program in "Comparative Forensic Sciences" within an existing bilateral exchange agreement as well as the challenges and “lessons learned” in maintaining a successful program. The GCU facilitators will relate the experiences of the host university in collaborating on academic parameters, constructing logistical and budget plans, arranging course-related local visits and social activities, and evaluating the student experience. The CSULB facilitator will describe the process of recruiting and preparing students for the study abroad experience. Session participants will be given a sample “road map” for initiating and constructing a successful short-term program and will have the opportunity to conceptualize other models.
