Description

2-day conference on the advocacy, adoption and advances of gender budgeting in the devolved governments within the UK and developments in the Republic of Ireland. We were interested in the perspectives of policy makers from within government, alongside the experiences of civil society activists and analysis by academics and advisers on the pitfalls and promise of gender budgeting. There is significant diversity across the UK in the approach to gender analysis in the budget process and that is what we were aiming to explore through dialogue, exchange and learning at this event. The audience included policymakers, activists, analysts, and other interested specialists from across the UK and the Ireland. We received external funding from the Scottish Government to support the travel and accommodation costs of voluntary/civil society organisations to be attend the event.
